The Ranchero - aka - my 400th post!!!

I couldn't believe this was my 400th post! Wow. So cool!

My grandfather gave me a 1973 Ford Rancher 500 for my 16th birthday. It wasn't really running at that time but I spent a summer working for my dad and with his help I was able to pay for the necessary repairs to provide needed.

I loved that car and was bummed to eventually have to sell it for something more economical, but in truth the romance of my first ride probably outweighs the truth that it had a exhaust leak we couldn't find, no working radio, and no AC. And it cost me a small fortune in gas money.

I did this piece for day 16 of the drawing challenge. I got a bit of freelance doing some Walking Dead card sketches and haven't had time to push any further on the 30 day drawing challenge at this time. I will get to share the sketch cards once the licenser gives the ok too! Very fun stuff.

Till next time.

Cheers

30 Day Drawing Challenge - Days 11-15

Day 11 -  Last request if the world was ending

To be with my wife.
Day 12 - What did u want to be when u grew up

In all honesty, I'm exactly where and what I wanted to be, but to keep things fun, I don't think saying a 'Superhero' would be much of a stretch.
Day 13 - Favorite Mythical Creature

Dragons
 Day 14 - Worst Punishment

My mom would make my brother and I stand in the corner when we were in trouble. Pretty sure it was for maybe 5 minutes at a time, but I swear it felt like hours.
 Day 15 - Favorite Fish

Had to slip some Star Wars in there. Say what you will fellow SW geeks, but Admiral Ackbar is a fish-man-dude thing individual.

There ya go. My posts might slip behind a pinch over the next couple weeks as I'v taken on a bit of freelance work, but please check back again soon. Days 16 - 20 next. And at some point I need to scan and post some sketches too.

Cheers!

30 Day Drawing Challenge - Days 6-10

 DAY 6 - Favorite Drink

Beer

DAY 7 - Favorite Bird

'Free Bird', usually sighted after too many of my favorite drink ;)

 DAY 8 - Amusement Park

Near and dear to me, I had a bit of fun with this one. I painted a quick study of New Orleans Square at Disneyland. My first job as an artist after college was drawing caricatures in that very corner of the magic kingdom. A job I'll forever look back upon w/ fondness :)

On a side Note, I'll most likely do a follow up post with this piece as I'v already splashed a touch of color on it in my free time.

DAY 9 - Your "spirit animal"

Took a quiz a coworker prompted me on in re: to discovering my spirit animal, and I drew 'Owl'. I can dig that. So in place of just one, thought I'd knock out a couple on the quick for fun.
DAY 10 - Home Town Memory

'Winnie'

My family was / is definitely a dog household. Over the years growing up we've had many k9 companions. Winnie, a loving and friendly boxer, has probably been the closest to my heart. She's amazing, and still kicking actually, tho a tad larger, slower and much grayer.

So there ya have it. Next up 11- 15. As well the over due drawing club sketches (which will probably show and include this weeks visit after Thursday) and another new weekly character with my buddy from work.

Until then, thanks for the visit, and Cheers!!!

Character challenge - reject Bond villain

Introducing 'Cheez N Whine'

A former '00, Chedd Pinot took his job very serious, maybe too serious. After years of bedding and killing for queen and country, Chedd met his match at a cheese and wine festival outside of Brussels. A quadruple-cross by a deep cover femme fatale by the name Yavonte A' Mess left Pinot utterly damaged, hurt, challenged and all around confused. The encounter split his self identity into two utterly different personalities and destroyed everything he had come too hold dear; everything that is, but cheese and wine...

Not entirely sure what to vow from that day forward, Chedd was left with two skill sets and no more smooth transition from one to the other. The first, killing!!! (which was oddly disagreeable with him(whiner!)) and the second, striking it with the ladies( or at least thinking that he was capable of said task (cheez- ball!))

 - thus was born . . . CHEEZ N WHINE!!!

So there ya have it.

More 30 day drawing challenge coming up as well I'm way over due for a sketch dump. The next character design challenge is 'crazy inmate'. If you have thoughts or ideas you might be interested in seeing for a character design challenge, leave a comment!

Otherwise and as always, thanks for swinging by, and Cheers!
