I've been working on updating my animation portfolio as of lately. I really wanted to up my game, but sometimes it's hard to figure out where exactly to start. A friend at Disney pointed me to a website for this artist Torsten Schrank. If you haven't seen the guy's work, it's really quite amazing. I would recommend stopping by his site. I found his character designs particularly inspiring. So I picked a book I just finished by James Ellroy, The Big Nowhere and decided I would adapt designs for animated versions of some of the main characters. I love LA crime noir, and Ellroy's yarns as well. His stories really lend to my imagination in great ways. I'm really having fun with the characters. I will most likely be fleshing these characters out further as well as adding to the cast. I'll give a quick run down on the characters as they near their final designs. Look for more on these guys.

those are some sick new characters.
I found your blog from your college friend's (RA) Mom's blog. Your work is amazing. Someday, I am sure, I will see your name in "lights".
I'm diggin' it, can't wait to see more
